Invest Europe launches Independent Sponsor Roundtable
Invest Europe’s mission is to represent all sections of the private equity and venture capital ecosystem and to provide the support that members need and expect in terms of advocacy, promotion, professional standards, and networking opportunities.
Following consultation with members, and the approval of our Board of Directors, we are delighted to announce the launch of Invest Europe’s Independent Sponsor Roundtable to bring together management companies and teams of at least two investment professionals who choose to operate and invest on a deal-by-deal basis, as well as investors who participate in their investments.
It is clear the independent sponsor segment is drawing increased attention and is being recognised as distinct within the private equity and venture capital universe, offering differentiated dynamics and a growing investor base.
By creating a new Independent Sponsor Roundtable, Invest Europe aims to enable the community to be better recognised and heard. We will showcase participants’ activities and collect and disseminate data on the segment and its investments. We will also help independent sponsors to navigate regulatory issues that impact them specifically and develop tailored professional standards. And, of course, we will provide a forum for networking experience-sharing, helping to guide Invest Europe’s activity and support in this expanding field.
We are delighted that Christiaan de Lint, Managing Partner of Headway Capital, will chair the Independent Sponsors Roundtable, joined by James Almond, Managing Partner of Duke Street Capital, as vice-chair. All Invest Europe member firms and investors active in this segment are invited to join the roundtable with a first meeting of the group expected to take place in April 2026.
